COS, a Swedish fashion label owned by the H&M Group, is opening its first Boston store and the third U.S. location later this month. The store will open at 138 Newbury St., previously the location of American Apparel and will span two floors, a full 2,960 square feet when it opens in two weeks on Sept. 25th.
“Renowned for its dedication to creating collections that evoke timeless modernity offered at affordable prices, the new space will remain aligned to the COS’ value of creating a relaxing and enjoyable shopping environment with the use of natural materials and stylish minimal finishes that will be featured within the Boston store interior,” COS said in a press release.
COS opened its first store in New York last year and soon added an additional location in Los Angeles.
“Boston is rich in historical and cultural influence and we look forward to introducing our first COS store to the city,” said Marie Honda, managing director for COS, in a statement.
At the end of last year, COS had 114 stores in 25 countries and online shopping available in 19 countries.
