‘The Italian sandwich is so perfect it will make you cry.’
How often do you hear a client talk about an Italian specialty shop that a makes sandwich that brings them to tears? You obviously have not yet visited Pepe Bocca in the very hot Davis Square in Somerville. Take a look at that photo!!! In this case, you’re seeing a beautiful display of artisan breads, banked beautifully on a vintage baker’s table. But you didn’t walk into Pepe Bocca’s and smell everything else that is going on. The sights and smells would make my Sicilian mother reminisce!!!
Pepe Bocca is located at 414 Highland Ave, Somerville, in the spot where the former Sessa’s Italian Specialties shop occupied. However, there is little left of the old Sessa’s, as Pepe Bocca has elevated ‘la groceria’ to a new level. There is a beautiful outdoor seating area, resplendent with pumpkins, squash, corn stalks, and colorful plantings, giving you a moment to enjoy your Italian delights from the inside counters. Whether you have an arincini, eggplant parmigiana, sausage calzone, thin crusted pizza, zepole, biscotti, panini or ricotta pie, sample the artisan bread, dip it into a variety of olive oils or just to have an espresso, you will be swept in by the delicious aromas and eye popping treats that Pepe Bocca. As my mouth is watering as I write this blog, I’m leaving you and racing to Pepe Bocca where I know that Grace will be there with a smile.
