It’s all well and good to have a wonderful apartment with a great view but what if it doesn’t have a deck? Or you already have this magical apartment but still crave the freedom and happiness that a private rooftop deck brings? Well, don’t worry, now you can buy ‘sky cabanas’ for you and your friends to enjoy the view on! The Pierce Boston building will soon open up with 12 private decks, set high above the city and ready to be enjoyed. They will run at around $300,000 dollars but it could be worth it, depending on how much time you like to spend outdoors.
The cabanas, The Boston Globe reports, are “open-air roof decks ranging from 150 to 250 square feet, with lounge furniture, wet bar, and an endless view of Boston.”
Oh, and the developer, Samuels & Associate, is selling them to the building’s condo owners for $300,000 to $350,000. The condos themselves range in price from $1 million to $6 million.
According to the Globe, the 12 cabanas will be separated from other roof deck amenities that are open to the whole building, such as the outdoor pool and sitting area and the indoor lounge.
“We were looking to create this urban oasis and offer an amenity no one else is,” Leslie Cohen, chief operating officer at Samuels, told the Globe. “It’s the best of both worlds: outdoor common areas and private sky.”
