Teele Square, Somerville, MA

Teele Square is at the intersection of Broadway, Holland Street, and Curtis Street in Somerville, Massachusetts, a half-mile from Davis Square and the Davis Square stop on the MBTA Red Line, as well as a half-mile from Alewife Brook Parkway (Route 16) and Powder House Square. The square sits on Clarendon Hill, one of the seven hills of Somerville.  Teele Square is within a short walking distance of Tufts University and is not far from the town lines of Cambridge, Arlington, and Medford.

Teele Square features a wide variety of eateries including Rudy’s (Tex-Mex), PJ Ryan’s Irish Pub, Broadway Eatery (Pizza), Angelina’s Pizzeria, West 7 Bistro (Italian), Sabur (exotic Mediterranean), House of Tibet Kitchen, Marsala (Indian), Istanbul’lu (Turkish), True Bistro (Vegan), Magnificent Muffin & Bagel (breakfast only), and Renee’s Cafe. There are three convenience stores in Teele Square and a newly opened Whole Foods.  Several other restaurants and stores, including Orleans Restaurant and Bar and Dave’s Fresh Pasta (fresh pasta as well as gourmet groceries and sandwiches) are on the strip of Holland Street between Teele and Davis Square.

Teele Square is unique when it comes to the real estate market as it attracts the gambit of buyers.  Many investors buy here as it is a great place to be a landlord with Tufts University running adjacent to it.  I’ve taken many first time home buyers here as many multi-family homes have been divided into condominiums.  With the big upturn in the Somerville housing market, I’ve come upon great rehabs and homes in their original condition, all waiting for the right buyer to make it their home.

Whether you’re a first time buyer or a soon-to-be empty nester, the charm of Teele Square could attract you to make this area your new home.  Let’s take a look together.  Call me so we can preview some of the great neighborhood offerings.
